Executive Women International Memphis chapter will hold its 50th anniversary celebration and dinner today at 5:30 p.m. at The University Club, 1346 Central Ave. Cost is $25. For more information, e-mail Krissie Heuer at kheuer@bec-memphis.com.

The Urban Land Institute-Memphis and the UrbanArt Commission will present "Rome: Impact of an Idea" today at 6 p.m. in the Myers Auditorium of the Memphis College of Art, 1930 Poplar Ave. The event is free and open to the public.

The Alliance for Nonprofit Excellence will hold a "Making Your Mission Statement Work for You" workshop Friday from 9 a.m. to noon at The Assisi Foundation of Memphis Inc., 515 Erin Drive. Admission is $65 for Alliance members, $55 for participants in the Program for Nonprofit Excellence and $99 for nonmembers. The Herff College of Engineering at the University of Memphis will host its E-Day open house Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Herff College on the campus.
