The Arc of the Mid-South will hold its 12th Annual Benefit and Awards Gala today at 7 p.m. at the Memphis Area Home Builders Association, 776 N. Germantown Parkway. Tickets are $50 for general admission and $75 for VIP admission, and can be purchased online at www.arcmidsouth.net or by calling 327-2473.


The Buckman Performing and Fine Arts Center will host an opening reception for an exhibit of photographs by Elizabeth Owen today from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at 60 Perkins Ext. For more information, contact Cindi Younker at 537-1483 or cyounker@stmarysschool.com.


The South Main Art Trolley Tour will be held today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. along South Main Street Downtown. The art galleries, shops and restaurants of the South Main Arts District will be open during the event. Rides on the Main Street trolley will be free through the district. State Farm's Seventh Annual Child Safety Day will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the State Farm office at 3341 Elvis Presley Blvd. Two agents will provide free inspections of child safety seats during this time.


The Girl Scouts will hold its 95th Anniversary Celebration Saturday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at AutoZone Park, 175 Toyota Plaza at the corner of Union Avenue and Third Street. Entry fee is $2 and food tickets are $6 and $9. For more information, call Lori Brougher at 767-1440.


Ryan's Hope, a nonprofit organization benefiting disabled children, will hold a silent auction and Bunco tournament Saturday from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at St. Benedict at Auburndale, 8250 Varnavas Drive. Women on the Move, a local women's networking group, will hold its Trade Show Monday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Crescent Club, 6075 Poplar Ave., Suite 909. The Adoption Center of the Mid-South will hold its annual Adoption Conference, "Family Focus 2007: Adoption, A Journey of Love," Nov. 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Holiday Inn Select, 2240 Democrat Road.
