The Engineers' Club of Memphis hosts its weekly meeting and lunch today at noon at the Holiday Inn-University of Memphis, 3700 Central Ave. Nisha Powers of Powers Hill Design LLC is the guest speaker. The event is $12 and no reservations are required.

The Memphis Regional Chamber will hold an event called "Today's Wellness" Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Memphis Botanic Garden, 750 Cherry Road. The event is free and open to the public, and lunch is included. Limited space is available and reservations can be made by calling 543-3571.

The Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library will host "Experience the Future of STAX" Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Memphis Room on the fourth floor of the library at 3030 Poplar Ave.

Talk Shoppe will hold an Open Microphone Discussion at its meeting Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Better Business Bureau of the Mid-South, 3693 Tyndale Drive.

The Little Tea Shop will host a booksigning for "Poetry and Memoirs" by Sylvia Abraham Holder, mother of Tenn. Supreme Court Justice Janice M. Holder, Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 69 Monroe Ave.

Lifeblood will hold a blood drive Wednesday from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at ITT Technical Institute, 7260 Goodlett Farms Parkway.

The Memphis Regional Chamber hosts its Breakfast Forum Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Hilton Memphis, 939 Ridge Lake Blvd. Andy Dolich, president of business operations for the Memphis Grizzlies, will speak on "What the Grizzlies Mean to Memphis and the NBA Draft." Operation R.E.A.C.H. (Reaching, Employing, Advocating, Challenging and Helping the Memphis Community) Coalition will host its "Stop the Violence: Peace and Unity Festival" Saturday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Glenview Community Center, 1141 S. Barksdale St. The festival will feature food, entertainment and a rap contest for the best "Stop the Violence" song, as well as motivational speakers and door prizes.
