The Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) will hold its monthly technical session today at 11:45 a.m. in the Medallion Restaurant of the Holiday Inn-University of Memphis, 3700 Central Ave. The event is $20.

Davis-Kidd Booksellers hosts Tina L. Burchett, founder and publisher of GRACE Magazine, today at 6 p.m. at 387 N. Perkins Road. Burchett will talk about how writers can get published in GRACE, a magazine for Memphis women of color. Those interested in submitting should bring a portfolio or sample clips.

The DeSoto County Economic Development Council will hold its Second Quarterly Membership Luncheon Friday at 11:45 a.m. at Whispering Woods Hotel and Conference Center, 11200 Goodman Road East in Olive Branch. The event is $25 per person. The authors of "Simple Solutions" will hold a book signing following the luncheon.

The Financial Planning Association of the Mid-South is hosting its second annual Charity Golf Tournament May 24 at 1 p.m. at Cottonwoods Golf Course, a part of Grand Casino Tunica.
