The Memphis City Council meets today at 3:30 p.m. at City Hall, 125 N. Main St., first floor. Call 576-6786.

The Memphis Area Association of Realtors hosts "RLI Land 101" Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at MAAR, 6393 Poplar Ave. Land 101 is an introductory course leading to the ALC (accredited land consultant) designation. The Shelby County Workforce Employer Outreach Committee hosts Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development Commissioner James Neeley at its meeting on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Jim's Place East Restaurant, 5560 Shelby Oaks Drive. Neeley will be speaking on worker's compensation reform. Employer committee forums are open to any employers who wish to become involved. Cost is $18. Rhodes College hosts local Rainbow/PUSH Coalition vice president Joseph Kyles Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the Orgill room of Clough Hall on the campus, 2000 N. Parkway. Kyles appears as part of a series of events being hosted by the college for Black History Month. He presents, "Is Black History Month Still Needed? The Status of Dr. Carter G. Woodson's Dream."
