Kemmons Wilson Inc. has financed part of area 11 of the
Schilling Farms Planned Development in Collierville for $4.3 million, according
to The Daily News Public Records Database, www.memphisdailynews.com.
Airport to Get Funds
for Runway Repairs
Memphis International Airport will receive $6.1 million in
grant funding for runway repair and resurfacing, the U.S. Department of
Transportation announced. The funding, being provided through the Federal
Aviation Administrations Airport Improvement Program, will be used to
rehabilitate runways at the airport to help ensure safety and maintain airport
capacity.

Names
New CFO
FedEx Corp. operating unit FedEx Ground has announced that chief financial
officer Ronald R. Trombetta will retire May 31. Trombetta, who spent 18 years
with the company, will be succeeded by vice president and controller Gretchen
G. Smarto.
Home Sales to See
Second-Best Year
Home sales are expected see the
second-best year on record in 2005, the National Association of Realtors
reported. Existing home sales are forecast to drop 2 percent from a record 6.68
million in 2004 to 6.54 million in 2005. New home sales are forecast at 1.11
million this year, down 6.2 percent from a record 1.18 million in 2004.
Buckeye Names
New Executives
Buckeye Technologies Inc. has
announced the promotion of Christian Chavassieu to senior vice president, wood
cellulose, effective April 1. Chavassieu, previously
vice president, specialty wood cellulose sales,
succeeds R. Howard Cannon. Buckeye is a Memphis-based manufacturer and marketer
of specialty fibers and nonwoven materials.
