Financed for $7.3 Million
Rivertown Development LP has financed two parcels near
Florida Street and Belz Boulevard for $7.3 million, according to The Daily News
Public Records Database, www.memphisdailynews.com. Deutsche Bank Berkshire
Mortgage Inc. is the lender.
Construction Spending
Sees December Increase
Nationwide, construction spending rose 1.1 percent in
December, the U.S. Department of Commerce reported Tuesday. The increase
followed a rise of 0.3 percent in November. For full-year 2004, building
activity rose 9 percent to $998.4 billion, marking the strongest increase since
a 10.4 percent jump in 1996.
Coors Shareholders
Approve Molson Merger
Shareholders of Adolph Coors Co. have approved the companys
$3.4 billion merger with Canada's Molson Inc. A final approval hearing is
scheduled for Wednesday in Quebec Superior Court. The deal is expected to close
Feb. 9. Coors operates a plant at 5151 E. Raines Road in Memphis.
DRB to Discuss
Main Street Project
The Center City Commission Design Review Board will discuss
a mixed-use construction project involving the proposed renovation of four
buildings at 99-105 S. Main St. at a 5 p.m. meeting today at 114 N. Main. The
board also will discuss signage for the Hooters restaurant going in at 250
Peabody Place.
State Gets $1.03 Million
in Energy Aid Funds
The state of Tennessee is getting an additional $1.03
million in Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program emergency funds, the U.S.
Department of Health and Human Services announced. The money, part of $100
million in new LIHEAP funds granted nationwide, is earmarked to help the
states low-income families pay heating bills.
