Agnes Place Apartments LP has financed the Agnes Place
Apartments near North Hollywood Street, also known as Hawkins Mill, for $3.4
million, according to The Daily News Public Records Database,
www.memphisdailynews.com. AmSouth Bank is the lender.
Tennessee Named Top
State for Biotech Companies
Tennessee has been listed among the nations top states as
an attractive location for biotech companies by Business Facilities magazine.
Tennessee ranked No. 11 on the list, which compared the states work force against
national work force statistics.
Voters Reject
Payroll Tax Initiative
Memphis voters rejected a measure Tuesday that would have
authorized the City Council to tax the payroll of workers inside the city of
Memphis. About 74 percent of voters went against the tax. Meanwhile, about 61
percent of voters favored a measure requiring Memphis residency for all new
city employees, including firefighters and police officers.
CCRFC to Discuss
PILOT Requests
The Center City Revenue Finance Corp. will consider a payment-in-lieu-of-tax
request by FT Building LLC for the First Tennessee Building at 165 Madison Ave.
at a 9 a.m. meeting Tuesday. The board also will consider PILOT lease requests
for property at 130 Keel Ave. and for the Hunt-Phelan property at 533 Beale St.
Rhodes Receives Grant
for Community Partnership
Rhodes College has received a $399,978 Community Outreach
Partnership Center grant to establish the Rhodes Hollywood Springdale
Partnership. The program is designed to improve conditions in the neighborhood bounded
by Jackson Avenue, Hollywood Street, Chelsea Avenue and Springdale/Tunica
Streets.
