The Regional Advisory Board of the Memphis and Shelby County
Department of Regional Services Metropolitan Planning Organization meets from

The University of Memphis commemorates the 50th anniversary
of the U.S. Supreme Courts Brown v. Board of Education decision with a free
lecture by Dr. Lee C. Bollinger, president of Columbia University, at 4 p.m.

The Tennessee Judicial Selection Commission hosts a public
hearing on 13 attorneys who have applied to fill a 30th Judicial District
vacancy at 5:30 p.m. today at the Holiday Inn Select-Downtown, 160 Union Ave.
The vacancy was created by the retirement of Circuit Court Judge Robert Lanier.
The Memphis Child Advocacy Center hosts the 12th annual
Works of Heart Valentine Auction from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday at the
Memphis College of Art, 1930 Poplar Ave. Attendees can bid on more than 100
heart-themed items created by Memphis artists, architects, designers and
celebrities. Tickets are $30 and are available at the door or by calling
Nobel Peace Laureate and Guatemalan civil rights leader
