Perl to Chair Airports Council Committee
Arnold Perl, chairman of the Memphis-Shelby County
Airport Board of Commissioners, was elected chairman of the Commissioners
Committee of the Airports Council International-North America at the groups
recent annual meeting. Perls term runs through January 2005. As chair of the
committee, he also becomes a member of the ACI-NA board of directors. Perl, a
founding member of national law firm Young & Perl, serves as secretary and
counsel for the Memphis Regional Chamber, vice president of Temple Israel and
trustee emeritus of the University of Tennessee.
Duane A. Dewey joined Trustmark as president of the
Investment Services division. Dewey previously worked in executive management
assignments for Provident Financial Group in Cincinnati. He earned bachelors
and masters degrees from Louisiana State University and holds a certified
financial planner designation.
Eric Trotz, president of A.E. Balkin & Associates
Inc. and a Tennessee certified general real estate appraiser, received the MAI
designation from the Appraisal Institute. The designation signifies a level of
expertise and experience in the valuation of real estate. He earned a
bachelors degree from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. In addition, he
holds a Tennessee real estate brokers license and is a member of the Memphis
Area Association of Realtors.
Marlene Rutledge Shaw was named head of school at St.
Marys Episcopal School. She previously held positions as head of school for
Chatham Hall in Virginia and as principal of middle schools in Texas and Louisiana.
She earned a bachelors degree from Louisiana State University and a masters
degree from the University of New Orleans.
Ellen Neese joined Baptist Memorial Health Care as a
genetic counselor for the Cancer Assessment, Risk Evaluation and Surveillance
program. Neese earned a masters degree in genetic counseling from the
University of South Carolina School of Medicine. She is a member of the
National Society of Genetic Counselors.
Jackson, Shields, Yeiser & Holt announced Valerie
B. Speakman was named partner in the firm and Louis R. Lucas and Dennis
J. Sossaman of Lucas, Thompson, Ryan & Sossaman PA joined the firm. The
firm is now called Jackson, Shields, Yeiser, Holt, Speakman & Lucas.
Ron Riley joined Trammell Crow Memphis as vice
president of leasing services focusing on landlord representation in the
Memphis market. Riley has more than 10 years of experience in marketing and
commercial real estate leasing. He worked most recently with Parkway Realty
Services.
Frazier Baker joined Trammell Crow Memphis as a
leasing associate. Baker interned with Trammell Crow in 2002. He graduated from
Centre College in Danville, Ky.
David A. Thornton of Husch & Eppenberger LLC was
named a member of Outstanding Lawyers of America. Thornton concentrates his practice
in employee benefits, benefits litigation, corporate law and health law. He
earned bachelors and law degrees from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.
OLAs membership is limited to 100 lawyers per state and is based on peer
nomination.
Pamela Cannon Scretchen received the James G. Hughes
Award from the Memphis Child Advocacy Center at the groups Honors Day
Luncheon. The award is presented to a Tennessee professional for excellence in
improving the communitys response to child abuse. Scretchen has worked for
four years as a forensic interviewer at the Nashville Child Advocacy Center.
She previously worked as a foster care case manager for the state Department of
Childrens Services.
