The Marion (Ark

The Marion (Ark.) Chamber of Commerce offers free Internet training from Arkansas State University and the Delta Center for Economic Development from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. today through Wednesday at the Woolfolk Library, 100 Currie St. in Marion.

The Bartlett Area Chamber of Commerce board of directors hosts a Thanks to You Picnic from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday in Dixon-Brewer Park at the corner of Woodlawn and Court streets.

The picnic is free and open to all chamber members and their employees to thank them for giving time and energy to the chamber.

The Germantown Area Chamber of Commerce hosts its Small Office/Home Office Monthly Meeting from noon to 1 p.m. Aug. 5 at First Tennessee Bank, 7640 Poplar Ave.

Padgett-Thompson, a division of Rockhurst University Continuing Education Center, presents Powerful Business Writing Skills from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 8 at the Holiday Inn Select Downtown, 160 Union Ave.

Topics to be covered include secrets to writing effectively, delivering bad news with tact and ways to motivate readers to action.

East Memphis Business and Professional Women hosts the Memphis Area Conference for Business Professionals from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 22 at the Holiday Inn at Mount Moriah Road and Interstate 240.

Attendees can choose to attend seminars on building health or building wealth. Speakers include Martha Ellen Maxwell, past executive director of the Memphis Symphony; Joye Lee-McNelis, University of Memphis head womens basketball coach; and Kym Clark, Donna Davis and Peggy Phillip of WMC-TV 5 News.

Cost before Aug. 15 is $89 and includes breakfast and lunch. A 6-foot exhibit table, with admission ticket, costs $150.
