The Center City Commission board meeting begins at noon Friday in the CCC conference room, 114 N. Main St.

 

The Memphis Bar Association presents Landlord/Tenant Law at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Park Vista Memphis, 939 Ridge Lake Blvd.

The speaker is Larry Baer of Baer, Baer & Baer. His practice areas include landlord and tenant law, leases and collections.

Pre-registration is required for the course, which offers two hours of continuing legal education credit. Cost is $50 for Memphis Bar Association members, $60 for non-members and $30 for non-attorneys or those who do not need CLE credit.

Registration is open for the second national Title VI Conference, Title VI: The Bridge for Change, slated for Memphis July 22-24.

The conference is sponsored by the Memphis and Shelby County Title VI Executive Committee TennCorp Community Services Inc. It is designed to educate, inform, develop and assist local and state governments, as well as the private sector, on how Title VI can benefit the daily operations of their businesses.

The Marriott Downtown is the host hotel. Attendees can make reservations by calling (888) 557-8740. Reservations will be accepted through Sunday or until the number of rooms designated at the special government rate are full. Those making reservations should refer to the Title VI conference when booking a room.

Conference registration is available online at www.titleviconference.org. Pre-conference discounts are available for those who register before June 30.

 

The Downtown Neighborhood Associations June meeting is 6:30 p.m. today at The Lofts, 505 Tennessee St.
