A Passport to Export series seminar is 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Tuesday in the Memphis Regional Chamber of Commerce boardroom, 22 N. Front St.
This is the first of two scheduled seminars to equip area
businesses with the tools and resources needed to enter export markets. The
second seminar is 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. March 11.
Topics to be discussed include public and private resources,
marketing goods overseas, finding agents and distributors, risk management,
letters of credit and government loan programs.
Registration for each seminar is $100 for Chamber members
and $125 for non-members. To register for both seminars and receive a discount,
make reservations by Friday.
The Memphis City Schools board of education hosts a town hall
meeting at 7 p.m. March 6 at the MCS Telecommunications auditorium, 2485 Union
Ave. The topic is the MCS Strategic Plan.

of Selected Statutes of Tennessee Consumer Law Saturday. The publication,
authored by local consumer rights attorney Kevin A. Snider, provides reference

An employee benefits update video seminar will be shown from
noon to 4 p.m. today in the Memphis Bar Association conference room, One
Commerce Square, Suite 1050.
The video seminar, sponsored by the American Bar
Association, will cover legislation enacted in 2002, as well as new regulations
on employee benefits plans employers, plan administrators and practitioners
need to know.
The seminar is designed for tax attorneys, actuaries and
accountants. The course offers 3.75 hours of general continuing legal education
credit. Registration is $179 for all participants.
