Feb. 10

The Shelby County Republican Women's Club hosts Judge Phyllis Gardner at 11 a.m. at the Racquet Club, 5111 Sanderlin Ave.

The National Association of Women Business Owners Greater Memphis Chapter meeting begins at noon at Days Inn Hotel at Cherry Road and American Way. No reservations are required.

  The National Ornamental Metal Museum and the Greater Memphis Arts Council present Some Like It Hot: Ironwork through Feb. 16. Metal Museum director Jim Wallace explores issues of scale, material and design through the work of metalsmiths known for their architectural scale ironwork.

The Memphis Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators monthly membership meeting begins at noon at the University Club of Memphis, 1346 Central Ave. Speaker Melissa Shook of Office Team will discuss recruiting, hiring and managing employees.

 

The Memphis Bar Association and Security Title Co. Inc. present Real Property Institute, a six-part series, from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursdays through Feb. 25 at the Racquet Club, 5111 Sanderlin Ave. The cost is $85 per session for MBA members, $95 for non-members and $50 for non-attorneys. Feb. 14

Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis will host a free community luncheon from noon to 1 p.m. in its seminar rooms. Dr. Robert J. Optican, a radiologist with Mid-South Imaging and Therapeutics and a specialist in cardiac imaging, will talk about coronary calcium scoring, or HeartScore, a noninvasive CT scan of the heart that measures the amount of calcium in the coronary arteries. Feb. 16

The University of Memphis presents the 20th Annual Juried Student Exhibition, as well as Ashley Edgerton Oates: A Summons to Memphis, through March 1 at the Art Museum in the Communication and Fine Arts Building on the U of M campus. Admission to the exhibitions is free. Museum hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Call 678-2224 for more information.
