Plans for 2001 Habitat Home Underway The Memphis Area Association of Realtor's public relations committee, in conjunction with the Memphis Area Home Builders Association and Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, are preparing for the 2001 Habitat for Humanity build, Sept. 7 through Oct. 13. Currently, MAAR is soliciting donations of building materials for the project. Those interested in making a donation can call Lee Ann Williams-Maley, 818-2423, or e-mail lwilliamsmaley@maar.org. "Development Patterns of the Memphis Area," a presentation by Dexter Muller of the Memphis Area Chamber of Commerce, is the Memphis Area Association of Realtors luncheon program Wednesday. The buffet line opens at the Memphis Area Home Builders Association building, 776 N. Germantown Road, at 11:45 a.m. MAAR has a new policy on program attendance. Due to the tremendous success of its monthly programs, lunches will be free only to those making reservations. "Walk-ups" will be charged $15, as will "no-shows." The Womens Council of Realtors luncheon is 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Chickasaw Country Club. The cost is $15. The program will be "How to Avoid Legal Liabilities." The panel includes John Criswell, Amy Linthicum, Lynn Roach, Brad Sterling, Ty Mathis and Richard McNeese. Call 818-2444 through today for reservations. Computer skills seminars for Realtors teach the basics of the Internet, e-mail and the necessary skills to use the new Multiple Listing Service system to be installed this fall. Sessions are 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to noon July 26. The cost is $30. Call 818-2417, to register. "Five Easy Steps to Creating a Web Site and Internet Presence," a two-hour seminar, is 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday in the Memphis Area Association of Realtors education center, 6393 Poplar Ave. The cost of the course is $20. Two-hour training classes of Multiple Listing Service Windows outlines basic searches, contact management, downloading information for working off-line and basic report printouts. Courses are set for 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. July 26 in the Memphis Area Association of Realtors computer training center, 6393 Poplar Ave. The $30 fee includes the training and free MLS Windows software.
