Seven attorneys from the Memphis-based law firm Harris, Shelton, Dunlap, Cobb & Ryder were included in the ninth edition of T
Nineteen attorneys from Baker, Donelson, Bearman & Caldwell were included in the ninth edition of "The Best Lawyers in America 2001-2002." Memphis practitioners recognized and their area of practice are Leo Bearman Jr., business litigation, legal malpractice law and personal injury/civil litigation; Lewis R. Donelson III, corporate law; William P. Kenworthy, employee benefits law; Charles T. Tuggle Jr., banking and corporate law; and Frank L. Watson Jr., corporate law. All were recognized by the organization, which asks lawyers throughout the United States to rate the clinical abilities of other lawyers in their area of practice. Only those attorneys who earned the consensus support of their peers were included.

The American Law Institute-American Bar Association Committee on Continuing Professional Education opened the nominating period for the 2001 Francis Rawle Award for outstanding contributions to post-admission legal education. The award committee will consider outstanding contributions in the form of publications, lectures, or the creation or administration of programs. Nominations should be sent to the Rawle Award Committee, ALI-ABA, 4025 Chestnut St., Philadelphia, Pa. 19104-3099. Nomination deadline is March 2.
