Bar Association announces nominees Bar Association announces nominees William H. Haltom Jr., president of the Memphis Bar Association, has released the report of the Nominations and Elections Committee for 2001. The 2001 president will be G. Patrick Arnoult and the vice president will be David Wade. Both automatically succeed to those positions under MBA bylaws. Voting members of the MBA will vote on the other officers. Nominees for those positions are: Irma Merrill, Treasurer; and David M. Cook or John J. Heflin III, secretary. In addition, MBA voting members will elect eight individuals to a two-year term on the board of directors beginning Jan. 1. The nominees for those positions are: Kenny W. Armstrong, Sabrina D. Ball, Leslie Gattas Coleman, Scott J. Crosby, Ellen E. Fite, James R. Garts, Linda L. Holmes, Caren B. Nichol, Arthur E. Quinn, Glen G. Reid Jr., Mike L. Robb, Kay F. Turner, Dorothy Sanders Wells, Michelle M. Williams, Richard L. Winchester Jr. and Randall B. Womack Under MBA bylaws, three section representatives are elected to a one-year term on the board of directors beginning Jan. 1. The following individuals were nominated by the MBA sections to vie for those three seats: Martin W. Cash Jr., Divorce and Family Law Section; Chris A. Cornaghie, Social Security Section; Larry Crawford, Corporate Counsel Section; James G.M. Lenschau, Environmental Law Section; Stephen W. Ragland, Bankruptcy Section; Karen B. Reagler, Wills and Probate Section; and Stephen L. Shields, Labor and Employment Law Section. According to MBA bylaws, any five voting members of the Association may nominate any other voting member for treasurer, secretary, or the board of directors (except section representative) not later than seven days after publication of this Nominations Committee report. Such nomination should be addressed to MBA Executive Director Anne Fritz, 1050 One Commerce Square, Memphis, TN 38103, and should specify the nominees name, the position for which nominated, and that the nominee has agreed to serve if elected. Each of the five voting members must sign the nomination, which will be deemed filed upon its receipt at the MBA office.
