Calendar of events: June 5 11 Calendar of events: Oct. 23-29 Oct. 23 Shelby County Commission meets at 1:30 p.m. at 160 N. Main St. Oct. 24 The Memphis City Council will host a citywide Town Hall meeting at 6 p.m. at East High School, 3206 Poplar Ave. Mayor Willie Herenton and members of the council, as well as staff members from police services, fire services, public services, general services and housing and community development, and Herman Morris, president of Memphis Light, Gas and Water, will be present. Oct. 25 The Village at Germantown, a new retirement community, is hosting an informational seminar from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Adams Mark hotel. For information, call 737-4242. The Mid-South Coliseum board has scheduled a meeting at 3:30 p.m. at the Coliseum board room. Oct. 26 The Memphis Bar Association will host a broadcast of "New Amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and the Federal Rules of Evidence," sponsored by the American Law Institute-American Bar Association, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at One Commerce Square, Suite 1050. Oct. 28 Temple Israel Brotherhoods "Taste of New York" auction and extravaganza begins at 7 p.m. at Temple Israel, 1376 E. Massey Road.
