Fiberworks to outfit centers with fiber optics Fiberworks to outfit centers with fiber optics US TechCenters has entered into a strategic partnership with Fiberworks to equip its new US TechCenters with direct fiber optic access to the public telephone and Internet networks. Under this agreement, Fiberworks, a full service fiber infrastructure provider, has committed to build, maintain and manage the equipment collocation facilities' fiber access in nearly 30 cities in the Southeast. US TechCenters are standardized carrier-neutral facilities with cutting edge technology solutions designed for tenants seeking ultra-high bandwidth communication systems. The centers will serve competitive local exchange carriers, inter-exchange carriers, Internet service providers, applications service providers and others. The centers will have an all-optical, all-fiber connection to many different telecommunications carriers with Fiberworks as the fiber infrastructure provider of choice. Facilities to be illuminated include US TechCenters in Atlanta; Charlotte, Raleigh and Winston-Salem, N.C.; Memphis and Nashville Tenn.; Jacksonville, Orlando and West Palm Beach, Fla.; and Little Rock, Ark. Unlike tenants of other facilities with fiber access, tenants of US TechCenters will not be limited in their choice of service providers. In most instances, when a carrier brings fiber to a building, tenants must select that carrier in order to utilize the fiber connection. As a ``carrier's carrier,'' Fiberworks is offering carrier-class, carrier-neutral, wholesale broadband access services, which will allow US TechCenters' tenants a number of options in choosing communications services and providers. ``This strategic partnership with Fiberworks will allow us to serve telecommunications service providers looking for a high degree of interconnectivity, and allow premium access and rapid deployment to provide our tenants with the communications speeds they need to compete,'' said Scott Taylor, president of US TechCenters.
