A free seminar hosted by First Tennessees personal trust department on Tuesday will address issues surrounding living trusts. Topics in the discussion include what the duties of an executor and a trustee are, how to title assets into a trust, how to avoid pitfalls and accounts available to manage trusts. Instructors for the seminar are Lisa Cook and Caprice Devereux, who have more than 30 years combined experience in the financial industry. The seminar is at the First Tennessee Oak Court auditorium, 4385 Poplar Ave. A mid-afternoon session is 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. and the early evening session is 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Those interested can call 681-2359 to reserve a space. Memphis Light, Gas & Water collaborating with the Memphis/Shelby County Intergovernmental Consortium, will host Business Conference 2000, a seminar designed to support the development and expansion of new and existing small business owners. The event is 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 26 at the Memphis Cook Convention Center. The seminar will feature speakers discussing topics such as bonding and insurance, choosing the right legal business structure, financial resources and support services. The cost to attend the seminar is $30. Registration can be done by calling 528-4381 or visiting MLG&Ws Web site at www.mlgw.com. Printronix Inc., a manufacturer of computer printers, reported lower revenues for the first quarter of fiscal 2001. Sales were $39.7 million for the quarter, down 11.5 percent from the year ago quarter and down 17.9 percent from the prior quarter. Net income for the first quarter was $200,000 or 3 cents per diluted share. For the prior year quarter, net income was $2.4 million and 36 cents per diluted share. The prior quarter net income was $2.5 million and 38 cents per diluted share. The company ended the quarter with cash and cash equivalents of $8.8 million. During the quarter, the company obtained a $17.5 million seven-year mortgage secured by its Irvine, Calif., headquarters. Printronix has operations in Memphis.
