All-American Moving Group received honors for achievements during 1999, including the Million Dollar Club Award, recognizing top Mayflower revenue producers; the Circle of Excellence Award, recognizing overall operational excellence in such areas as hauling fleet participation, customer perception, market share and revenue growth; Significant Agency Volume Growth Award, recognizing agencies achieving the highest revenue growth in 1999, compared to 1998; and the Admirals Club Award, for the top sales producers in specific business lines.
Fred's Inc. reported sales results for the five-week and five-month periods ended July 1. Retail sales by company stores increased 16.4 percent while sales to franchise locations experienced a modest decline. Fred's total sales for June increased 15.2 percent to $71.1 million compared with $61.8 million in the year-earlier period. On a comparable store basis, June sales increased 9.8 percent vs. the same period last year. For the first five months of fiscal 2000, retail sales by company stores rose 15.5 percent. Total sales increased 14.4 percent to $304.4 million compared with $266.2 million in the same period last year. Comparable store sales for the year-to-date period in 2000 increased 9.6 percent over the year-earlier level.
