Thompson and Co Thompson and Co. has been chosen as the agency of record for two business-to-business firms: Atlanta-based fibermarket.com and Jackson, Miss.-based Vention Inc. The new clients represent almost $2 million in billings. fibermarket.com is an independent, e-commerce solutions provider for the forest products industry. Thompson and Co. will handle all advertising, public relations and direct marketing for the almost $1 million account. Vention is one of the Southeasts leading e-business development firms. It helps clients increase their revenues, profits, market share and customer loyalty objectives through Internet strategies and systems. Its clients include SunCom, Viking Range Corp., Thomas and Betts Corp. and National Safety Associates Inc. The $1-million-dollar communications account will be led by Thompson and Co.s public relations division and will include advertising and dialogue marketing. Thompson and Co. also has formed a strategic partnership with Vention, and as a result is now able to offer its clients state-of-the-art Web capabilities. Memphis-based eOn Communications Corp.s Web Center software suite won "Best of Show" at Computer Telephony magazines recent CT Expo 2000 in Los Angeles. Running on an eOn Communications server with a Linux operating system, the Web Center software suite offers E-mail Queuing for managing and routing e-mail; Web Callback for improved personal responses to Web site visitors; Web Chat for real-time text communications and Automated Response for fast and accurate replies to standard requests. The Web Center also is available as a stand-alone Linux server application that works with existing telephony and data equipment to provide E-Mail Queuing and Web Chat. The companys Web site can be accessed from www.eoncc.com. Coupons.com has formed a strategic alliance with Valassis Communications Inc. to make discount coupons for packaged good available to consumers through their personal computers, ready to print online or offline 24 hours a day. As part of the agreement, Valassis will provide Coupons.com with expanded content and its proprietary, two-dimensional barcode to create secure, Web-based, home-printed coupons, and will market the Coupons.com service to its packaged goods and franchise customers. Valassis also has acquired a minority interest in Coupons.com, with an option to increase the investment during the companys next round of financing. Through Coupons.coms Web site, at www.coupons.com, subscribers can download the application and select from more than a dozen coupon categories. The only information required is a ZIP code, to be used for targeted distribution. With more than 1.7 million unique visitors per month, Coupons.com is one of the fastest growing consumer communities on the Internet. Shop2u.com, the first company to delivery full-color electronic catalogs through the Internet via e-mail, announced Macys By Mail, RedEnvelope.com, The Company Store and Panache have joined its growing list of merchant partners. Shop2u.com now has more than 30 participating catalog titles and Internet retailers involved in their innovative program, which creates personalized e-catalogs for each individual consumer using past purchase and survey data.
