Through the roof
January and February are very prosperous months, as builders want to get the jump on good weather ahead. In the first two months of 1999, a dozen projects with construction values of $1.5 million or more got underway. Total construction value listed on the building permits pulled was $93.9 million. Not to be outdone, nine permits were pulled in the first two months of 2000 valued at $1.5 million or more with a total construction value of $89.5 million. The Downtown ZIP code led the way with three permits valued at $53.7 million pulled in 2000.
