Launice P. Sills has joined Baker, Donelson, Bearman & Caldwell as an associate attorney in the firms Memphis office. Sills concentrates her practice in tort and insurance litigation. She received a bachelors degree in 1980 from Spelman College and a law degree in 1983 from Howard University.
Fred Smith and Carolyn Jolly have joined Boyle Insurance Agency as vice president and customer service representative, respectively.
Both Smith and Jolly come to Boyle from Galbreath Insurance Agency Inc. Smith co-founded Galbreath and served as its president for 18 years. Jolly served as customer service representative at Galbreath for eight years.
Lurgi PSI Inc. has added three new employees to its management staff:
Larry Robertson joins Lurgi as vice president of engineering. Prior to joining the company, Robertson worked 25 years at Great Lakes Chemical Corp. He holds a bachelors degree in chemical engineering from the University of Arkansas.
Henning Nixdorff has transferred from Lurgi Bischoff in Frankfurt, Germany, to Memphis to serve as senior sales manager for gas cleaning systems. Nixdorff holds a degree in process engineering from Technical University in Darmstadt, Germany.
Ron Triscori has transferred from the former Lurgi Corp. in New Jersey to Memphis to serve as sales manager for gas cleaning systems. He holds a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University.
Askew Hargraves Harcourt & Associates announces the following staff additions and promotions:
Robin K. Mar joined the Structural Department as structural technician. Mar is a graduate of I.T.T. in Memphis.
Baozhu Wei, P.E., joined the Civil Department as a civil project manager. Wei holds an M.S. in civil engineering and seismology from The University of Memphis and a B.S. in physics from Suzhou University in China.
Nick Palermo, E.I.T., joined the Mechanical/Electrical Department as mechanical project engineer. Palermo holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Louisiana State University.
Jesse Allen Williams, E.I.T., has joined the firms Jackson, Tenn., office as civil project engineer. Williams holds a B.S. in civil engineering from The University of Memphis.
Andrew Sampson IV was promoted to survey party chief.
Dr. James Redmond, associate professor of journalism at The University of Memphis, has been named the new chair of U of Ms Department of Journalism. Redmond joined the U of M faculty in 1993, after receiving a Ph.D. in communication from the University of Colorado. In 1998, Redmond was appointed acting chair of the department.
