Russell Gwatney, Gwatney Cos Russell Gwatney, Gwatney Cos. president, was named chairman of the Memphis Area Chamber of Commerce. Gwatney has served on the board since 1995. Other officers elected to serve in 2000 are: Larry Jensen, chairman-elect; Herman Morris Jr., immediate past-chairman; Arnold Perl, secretary and counsel; Bob Hester, finance/administration; and Marc Jordan, president and chief executive officer. 3Re.com Inc. has made the following additions: James L. Barksdale has been elected to the board of directors. Barksdale, 56, is the managing partner of The Barksdale Group, an investment advisory firm he founded in May and which focuses on investing in growing companies in the Internet services industry. He previously served as president and chief executive officer of Netscape Communications Corp. Glenn Petrucci has been named chief information officer. Prior to his promotion to CIO, Petrucci was employed as group director of information technology with the company. Petrucci will be responsible for leading the IT department as well as insuring 3Re.com's business technology remains strong. Kelly Nelson has joined the University of Memphis as director of development for the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. Before joining U of M, Nelson served as a development specialist with the American Heart Association. She received her bachelors degree in journalism from the University of Mississippi in 1993. Timothy McCaffery, a senior scientist with Pickering Inc., has been recognized at the Master Level, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager. He also was elected as secretary for the Memphis Chapter of the Academy of Hazardous Materials Manager. McCaffery has a bachelors degree in solid earth sciences from Purdue University. He is a registered geologist in Tennessee. Baker, Donelson, Bearman & Caldwell has made the following additions to the Memphis office: Marla F. Adair concentrates her practice in the areas of corporate securities, and mergers and acquisitions. She received a bachelors degree in 1994 from Christian Brothers University and a law degree in 1998 from the University of Mississippi School of Law. Lodie V. Biggs concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial lending and real estate. He received a bachelors degree from the University of Memphis and a law degree in 1999 from the University of Virginia. Joey E. Dudek concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate securities, mergers and acquisitions, and electronic commerce law. He received a bachelors degree in 1993 from Rhodes College and a law degree in 1999 from the University of Mississippi. Michael D. Fitzgerald concentrates his practice in the areas of employment and commercial litigation. He received a bachelors degree in 1994 from Wake Forest University and a law degree in 1999 from the University of Tennessee. David A. McCarthy concentrates his practice in the area of commercial litigation. He received a bachelors degree in 1996 from Florida State University and a law degree in 1999 from Harvard Law School. Darren T. Moore concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate securities, mergers and acquisitions, and electronic commerce law. He received a bachelors degree in 1996 from the University of Florida and a law degree in 1999 from Washington and Lee University School of Law. Brian J. Russell concentrates his practice in the area of tort litigation. He received a bachelors degree in 1995 from the University of Dayton and a law degree in 1999 from the University of Memphis School of Law. Clinton J. Simpson concentrates his practice in the area of litigation. He received a bachelors degree in 1996 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a law degree in 1999 from the University of Alabama. Paul S. Stasiulis concentrates his practice in the areas of taxation, and mergers and acquisitions. He received a degree in 1992 from the University of Mississippi and a law degree in 1996 from the University of Mississippi.
