AutoZone Names Senior Vice James M. Evans Jr. has joined PSI as a staff consultant. He has bachelors and masters degrees from the University of Memphis and previously worked as a structural engineer. Emily Forman has joined CB Richard Ellis as research assistant. She formerly was office manager for Gottschalk Realty Inc. She is a graduate of Taylor University. Thomas H. Shipmon has been promoted to vice president in the professional and executive division of NationsBank. Lisa Copeland has been promoted to director of placement services at Youth Villages. She most recently was placement services manager. Copeland is a graduate of the University of Memphis. Michael Ward has opened Ward Communications LLC. He previously was senior vice president and account group manager at Chandler, Ehrlich & Co. Bruce Dziedzic has been named manager of the Tennessee Valley Authority Transmission Service Center in Memphis. He previously was acting manager of the Transmission Service Center in Starkville, Miss. He has a bachelors degree from the University of Missouri and a masters degree from the University of Memphis. Brandt Wright has been appointed vice president of integrated services for Baptist Memorial Health Care Corp. He most recently served as administrative director of a project that standardized the companys information systems and data reporting. He has a bachelors degree from Baylor University and a masters degree from Washington University. Ayoka Pond has been named public relations specialist for Baptist Memorial Health Care Corp. She previously was an intern. Pond is a graduate of the University of Missouri. Pickering Inc. has announced the following new employees and promotions: Robert Stevens has joined Pickerings environmental group as project coordinator. Barry Teeter has joined the company as senior party chief. He recently worked for Fisher Arnold Inc. Arnie Grisby has joined Pickering as senior environmental specialist. Don Davis has joined the company as a mechanical engineer. He is a graduate of Christian Brothers University. Joseph M. Fabiano has joined AutoZone Inc. as senior vice president, human resources. He formerly held senior human resources management positions for Northwestern Corp., Tricon and Gruma. Elizabeth "Irene" Gavrock has joined Roller Family Funeral Home as clerical assistant and apprentice funeral director. The Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants announced several area CPAs have been named chairmen of state committees: Pamela H. Church of Rhodes Colleges Department of Economics and Business, scholarship committee; Stephen T. Dunavant of Thompson Dunavant, international business committee; John M. Griesbeck of Reynolds Bone & Griesbeck, banking committee; William G. Griesbeck of Reynolds Bone & Griesbeck, personnel committee; C.M. Ison of Bean Ison & Ruleman, practice management committee; and Danny R. Snow of Thompson Dunavant, taxation-federal committee. Mary Cuyler and Ashley Walker, audit associates for BDO Seidman LLP, were named to the accounting education volunteer committee. Ken Plunk, chairman of Union Planters Bank, has been selected first vice president of the Tennessee Bankers Association. David Yawn, editor/senior communications specialist for Federal Express, received an award of excellence from Communication Concepts for the publication International Connection. James Hollingsworth, project architect for Taylor Gardner Architects Inc., has received his license in architecture. Herman Morris, president and chief executive officer of Memphis Light, Gas & Water, was named Executive Father of the Year by the Salute to Fatherhood organization. Roland McElrath, finance director for the city of Memphis, received an Award of Financial Reporting Achievement from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. The city of Memphis received a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. Mark VII Transportation was named 1998 Intermodal Carrier of the Year by SC Johnson Wax. Guardsmark Inc. earned ISO-9000 registration effective July 9.
