The Federal Bar Association, Memphis Bar Association and its Young Lawyers Division, Association for Women Attorneys, National Bar Association and Tennessee Bar Association are planning a civil rights symposium Jan The Federal Bar Association, Memphis Bar Association and its Young Lawyers Division, Association for Women Attorneys, National Bar Association and Tennessee Bar Association are planning a civil rights symposium Jan. 15. As part of the materials to be provided to attendees, they are putting together a form book for civil rights practitioners and requesting that attorneys who practice in civil rights submit copies of case pleadings for the book. The areas for which submissions are requested include police misconduct, prisoner, sexual harassment, due process and first amendment employment, land use, Americans with Disabilities Act and attorney fee petitions or application cases. Submissions can be submitted to Pam Hamrin, 167 N. Main St., No. 338 or Andrew C. Clarke at 6256 Poplar Ave. For more information, call Hamrin at 495-1318. The Memphis Bar Association will sponsor a seminar titled "11th Hour CLE" from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. The sessions on Monday include "The Essence of Advocacy" and "The Language of Persuasion" featuring Jim McElhaney. The sessions on Tuesday include "How to Deal with the Difficult Lawyer" and "Recent Developments in Family Law." All sessions are videotaped presentations with a moderator. The cost is $100 per session for MBA members and $125 for non-members. Agreements Unlimited, a mediation and training firm, will conduct a Tennessee Supreme Court-approved Rule 31 mediation training for family mediators Jan. 15-17 and Jan. 22-23 in Nashville. The 12th annual Conference & Workshops on Law Firm Management and Economics will be held in Atlanta March 18-19 at the Ritz Carlton Buckhead. The conference is sponsored and coordinated by Joel A. Topics include trends in engagement and billing arrangements, utilizing partner compensation, planning and implementing the transition of clients, emerging automated systems and law firm marketing.
