VOL. 112 | NO. 203 | Wednesday, November 4, 1998
scheduled for Thursday
The National Society of Fund Raising Executives will conduct an all-day professional training workshop in conjunction with the NSFRE Crystal Awards luncheon and the observance of Fund Raising Day.
The event will be Thursday at the Peabody Hotel beginning with registration and a continental breakfast at 8 a.m.
The 8:30 a.m. opening keynote address will be by Kay Sprinkle Grace, an author, fund-raising consultant and motivational speaker.
Her subject will be "Beyond Fund Raising: New Strategies for Innovations and Investment in Non Profits."
Grace leads her audience to think about philanthropy, development and fund raising as an expression of values rather than as a collection of techniques.
She also will host a small group workshop on "Transformational Gifts: A New Dimension in Major Giving."
Two other nationally known fund raisers who will host their own panels are Alan H. Facter, chairman of the board of Facter Direct Ltd., and Russell Weigand, co-president of Campbell & Co. fund-raising consultants, who will cover integrated direct marketing and creating happy donors.
Other workshops will feature J. Barry McGannon, chancellor of St. Louis University; Cynthia Ham of Archer/Malmo Advertising; Wendy Fisher of Mailworks; Susan Heileman of Alexander Haas Martin & Partners; and Leo P. Arnoult of Arnoult & Associates Inc.
The cost is $150 for non-members and $125 for members. Registration includes the Crystal Awards luncheon.
For reservations, call Teresa Varnon at 843-3850.
