The Shirley B The Shirley B. Anzaroot Cadillac Invitational Golf Tournament will be Monday at Ridgeway Country Club. Proceeds will benefit the National Kidney Foundation. The entry fee is $250 per player. For more information, call 683-6185. The Central Gardens Association will sponsor its 22nd annual Home and Garden Tour from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 13. The tour will include a mid-1800s plantation house, a typical turn-of-the-century bungalow and a working artists studio. The featured homes are located at 1744 Glenwood Place, 1750 Glenwood Place, 653 Anderson, 1737 Harbert, 1780 Vinton and 593 S. McLean. Tickets are $6 in advance or $8 on the day of the tour. Baptist Memorial Health Care Corp. is sponsoring the third annual Baptist Kids Festival and Tour de Tots 5K Fun Run on Sept. 19 at the Hutchison School, 1740 Ridgeway Road. The Mid-South Minority Business Council will host the third annual golf tournament benefiting the Robert R. Church Scholarship Fund on Sept. 24 at the Big Creek Golf Course in Millington. The fund was established by the Minority Input Committee to provide financial assistance to help send deserving high school graduates in pursuit of entrepreneurial opportunities to college. For more information, call 678-2388. The consumer price index for all urban consumers for the South increased 0.1 percent from June to July. For the 12-month period ended in July, the index increased 1.5 percent, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Department of Labor, in Atlanta. Nationally, the consumer price index increased 0.1 percent over the month and 1.7 percent over the 12-month period.
