Shelby State Community Colleges department of emergency medical technology will offer its basic EMT class at four of the colleges centers this fall: Millington, Collierville, Fayette County and Whitehaven. For more information, call 775-2527. The University of Tennessee-Memphis has received approval from the Tennessee Higher Education Commission for a new doctor of nursing science. UTs doctor of nursing science degree is only the fourth of its kind in the United States. The colleges current doctorate program has about 15 students and emphasizes research. The Shirley B. Anzaroot Cadillac Invitational Golf Tournament is scheduled for Aug. 30 at Ridgeway Country Club. Proceeds will benefit the National Kidney Foundation. The entry fee is $250 per player. Applebees Neighborhood Bar and Grill is sponsoring the first Youth Villages Golf Tournament at the Wedgewood Golf Course in Olive Branch, Miss., at 9 a.m. Sept. 17. The cost is $75 per player.
