Animal Planet Rescue, a disaster relief vehicle designed to respond to catastrophic emergencies in which animals are endangered or injured, will be at the Memphis Zoo on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The vehicle, which is more than 80 feet long, includes interactive exhibits, more than 40 tons of rescue equipment, a mobile vet clinic, water tanks and a corral.
Baptist Trinity Hospice is offering a free seven-week grief support program beginning Monday. Group meetings will be held every Monday at Second Baptist Church, 4680 Walnut Grove Road. The Multiple Sclerosis Society is sponsoring its MS Walk on Saturday. Two 6.2-mile walks will be held simultaneously beginning at Poplar Plaza and at Olive Branchs city park. Registration begins at 9 a.m., and the walks begin at 10 a.m. Proceeds will be used by the organizations Mid-South chapter to fund research and provide services for MS patients. Friends of the Library will hold its annual book sale June 5-7 in the Charles Brakefield/Youth Building at the Fairgrounds.
