J. Russell Phillips Jr. has joined Burch, Porter & Johnson PLLC as an associate. Prior to joining the firm, he was a partner at Carpenter and Phillips in Macon, Ga. He received his bachelors degree from the University of Mississippi and his law degree from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University.
Mark Yates has joined Morgan Keegan & Co. Inc.s fixed income banking group as a vice president. He formerly was chief of staff for U.S. Rep. Harold Ford Jr. and a vice president at First Tennessee. Yates has a bachelors degree from Howard University and a masters degree from Vanderbilt University.
Ronald M. Roberts has been promoted to vice president of Pickering Builders Inc. He has worked for Pickering for five years as a resident engineer and construction manager. He has a bachelors degree from the University of Tennessee and a law degree from the University of Memphis.
Raymond H. "Mickey" Moran has become affiliated with The UCL Financial Group. He is a former partner with Peyton/Moran and a principal in Peyton/Moran Co. Support staff Kaye OHearn and Tim Moran also will join UCL Financial.
