Joe Labetti has been appointed managing director of the U.S. risk control consulting division for Sedgwick Inc. Labetti formerly was with Travelers Insurance Co. He has a bachelors degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a masters degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
The Peabody has announced two additions to its sales and marketing staff:
Mike McAlister has joined the sales and marketing staff as fastrak manager for group meeting planned less than one year in advance. McAlister has 12 years of sales experience.
Matt Rose has joined the sales and marketing staff as regional sales manager for the Midwest market. He has four years of hotel sales experience.
Nancy Alyea has been promoted to vice president of finance for Smith & Nephews ear, nose and throat division. She formerly was interim vice president of finance for the orthopaedic division.

Dan Madden has joined the Memphis Redbirds as assistant general manager and director of operations. Madden formerly was business manager and stadium director for the Indianapolis Indians Triple-A baseball team.
Monice Hagler Tate has joined the law firm of Fearnley and Califf PLLC and will practice primarily in the area of real estate law. She formerly was city attorney.
Robert E. Leech, senior vice president of Medshares Management Services Inc., has been named Executive of the Year by the Memphis chapter of Professional Secretaries International.
Dr. John M. Dobson of Memphis, Dr. Irvin D. Fleming of Memphis and William Dixon Hood Sr. of Brownsville received Methodist Hospital Foundations Living Awards for their leadership and commitment to Methodist Health Systems.
John Osborne, vice president of finance and administration for Hollywood Casino in Tunica, Miss., has been selected to participate in the Mississippi Economic Councils 1997-1998 Leadership Mississippi program. He is one of 25 participants selected from more than 500 nominations.
