The Memphis Area Chamber of Commerce is reaching out to its members through a series of outreach meetings at five locations around Memphis and Shelby County The Memphis Area Chamber of Commerce is reaching out to its members through a series of outreach meetings at five locations around Memphis and Shelby County. The meetings, which include free admission and continental breakfast, will begin at 7:30 a.m. The meetings will be on Wednesday for North/Northeast Shelby County at Memphis Motorsports Park, 5500 Taylor Forge Road; Thursday for Downtown/Midtown at the Holiday Inn Select, 160 Union Ave.; Sept. 30 for East Shelby County at the Memphis Area Home Builders Association, 776 N. Germantown Road; Oct. 1 for South/Southeast Shelby County at the Coors Belle, 5151 E. Raines Road; and Oct. 2 for East Memphis at Memphis Botanic Garden, 750 Cherry Road. For reservations or more information, call Pepsi Green at 543-3518. Memphis City Council members Rickey W. Peete and Joe W. Brown will host three town hall meetings on Saturday. The meetings will be at 10 a.m. at Hollywood Community Center, 1560 N. Hollywood; at noon at Ed Rice-Frayser Community Center, 2907 N. Watkins; and at 2 p.m. at Bickford Community Center, 233 Henry. Peete and Brown will discuss the City Council and listen to questions and comments from constituents. State Reps. Larry Miller, Ulysses Jones Jr. and Joe Towns Jr. and county commissioner Shep Wilbun Jr. will co-host the event. The Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation will sponsor the Baptist Kids Festival and Tour De Tots 5K Fun Run on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hutchison School, 1740 Ridgeway Road. Race and walk registration will begin at 8 a.m. followed by the run/walk/stroll at 9 a.m. The festival includes clowns, face painting, prizes, free refreshments, entertainment and a silent auction. Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for children aged 1-12. Race registration is $15 at the door and $11 for Memphis Runners and Track Club members. Admission to the festival is included in race registration. All proceeds benefit the Pediatric Intermediate Care Unit and the Pediatric Audiology Unit at Baptist Memorial Hospital-East.
