The Memphis/Mid-South chapter of the Federal Bar Association and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee are sponsoring a seminar on Friday at noon at Calvary Episcopal Church. Rehim Babaoglu will speak on immigration law. The cost is $10 for FBA members and $15 for nonmembers. The program offers one hour of general continuing legal education credit. The Memphis Bar Association is sponsoring a seminar titled "Ethics: Mediation Ethics and Other Frontiers in Ethics" on July 25 from 1 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. at NBCs auditorium. Panel members include Lucian T. Pera of Armstrong Allen Prewitt Gentry Johnston & Holmes PLLC; Lance B. Bracy, chief disciplinary counsel, Board of Professional Responsibility of the Supreme Court of Tennessee; Kelly Stark of McLean & Stark; and William M. Monroe of Monroe Kaufman & McGhee PLLC. The seminar offers three hours of ethics credit, pending approval. The cost before Wednesday is $75 for MBA members and $80 for nonmembers.
The Memphis Bar Associations securities section will present a seminar titled "Confidential Treatment Requests: Maintaining Confidentiality When Filing Documents with the Securities and Exchange Commission" on Aug. 12. The presenter will be Scott Hansen and Penelope Turnbow of Federal Express Corp. The seminar offers one hour of continuing legal education credit. The cost is $25 before Aug. 8.
