Guthrie, research analyst, Equity Research; Michael J. Harris, investment banker, Investment Banking Group; Stephen P. Laffey, director of equity research and manager of equity institutional sales and trading, Equity Capital Markets; William A. Langevin, manager, listed trading desk, Equity Capital Markets; R. Michael Ricketts, manager, Louisville; Thomas E. Robinson Sr., national sales manager, Private Client Group; Thomas A. Snyder, chief operations officer, Fixed Income Capital Markets; Gib Vestal, investment banker, Investment Banking Group; J. William Wyker III, manager, Decatur. Carolyn Witcover, vice president of the commercial banking division for First Tennessee Bank, has been elected chairman of Crime Stoppers of Memphis Inc. Other new officers for 1997 are Terry Fondren, vice chairman; Alex Sternberger, secretary; and Bill Davis, treasurer. New board members elected were Bob Hunolt, Bill Key and Dorothy McCullom. Ronnie Rice has been named program director of WOGY-FM 94. Rice, who has served as acting program director since October, has been with the station since April 1994 as music director and on-air personality. Jozelle Luster has been named supplier diversity officer for Memphis Light, Gas and Water Division. Luster previously served as an MLGW economic development representative. She is a graduate of Jackson State University. Marsha S. Hefner has joined SSM Corp. as chief executive officer. A certified public accountant, Hefner previously was tax manager for Bean & Ison, LLC, CPAs and Consultants. Les Jones has become a member of Burch, Porter & Johnson and Mia Gianotti Henley and Andrew B. Carter has become associated with the firm. Barbara M. Neal has been named interim executive director of the YWCA of Greater Memphis. Since retiring from the national YWCA in 1992, Neal has worked with the organization as an independent management consultant on the national and local levels. Diane Lefferty of General Business Services has been appointed an AgriPlan/BizPlan provider in the Cordova area. Dr. Gregory Anderson recently joined the staff of the Methodist Primary Care Center. He received degrees from Fisk University and Vanderbilt University prior to attending Meharry Medical College. Dr. Anthony Jackson recently joined the staff of the Methodist Adult Family Counseling Center. Jackson is a graduate of Tennessee State University and Meharry Medical School. Michael M. Brown, account executive with Collier Insurance, has been elected president of the Insurors of Memphis. Other officers include vice president Michael R. Henry, president of J. Henry and Co., and secretary and treasurer Jeffrey S. Hall, vice president of McDonnell Insurance. Four members of the board of directors also were elected: Herb Davis, Cecil Smith Insurance; Mike Dill, Hemisphere Insurance; Neal McConnico, Carruthers-Harris Insurance; and Leann M. Wright, Barkley Insurance Group. Marvin Silver, executive director of Memphis Jewish Home, has been re-elected to the board of directors of the Tennessee Health Care Association. Sally Skeen, administrator of Shelby Pines Rehab and Healthcare Center, has been elected to the associations board of directors.
