City Grocery, a full-service specialty grocery store, has signed a lease with Belz Enterprises to occupy about 11,800 square feet in Peabody Place City Grocery, a full-service specialty grocery store, has signed a lease with Belz Enterprises to occupy about 11,800 square feet in Peabody Place. Construction has begun on the store, which will be in the Market at Pembroke Square and is scheduled for opening in April. The store will offer catalog shopping, delivery service, curb-side pick up, bill paying services and video rentals. City Grocery is the fourth Downtown retail venture for Professional Property Management Corp., the largest minority business owner on Beale Street. Crye-Leike Realtors has announced that it had a sales volume of $1.8 billion in 1996, a 15 percent increase over 1995. Crye-Leikes Memphis offices reported a sales volume of $1.2 billion, up 11 percent over 1995. The companys Nashville offices reported a sales volume of $660 million, up 24 percent. Crye-Leike has 14 offices and 840 agents in Memphis and North Mississippi and 12 offices and 726 agents in Middle Tennessee. The Appraisal Institute will meet today at noon at Chickasaw Country Club, 3395 Galloway. The speaker will be Dexter Muller, director of the Office of Planning and Development, whose topic will be major road improvements and future growth in Shelby County. The cost is $12 per person.
