lj 10/5 cates Home Builders Association of Memphis board members and staff participated in a planning retreat in Hot Springs, Ark., in November and formulated a number of goals for the upcoming year. They include: 1. Develop an operating reserve (rainy day) fund policy and a capital budget policy. 2. Develop a plan to use excess reserve fund and capital budget fund interest earnings to fund a public relations campaign for promoting new home sales and the Registered Builders Program. 3. Increase participation in HBAMs political action efforts; raise $30,000. 4. Explore changing the name of the association to better reflect the broad geographical scope of its membership. 5. Increase the educational focus of HBAM events for members. 6. Improve communication between board members, committees and councils, especially in regard to the ongoing efforts of each to advance the industry. 7. Increase attendance and involvement in all HBAM activities and events by all members and especially builder members. 8. Develop processes to insure that annual planning retreat goals are implemented.   The 1997 HBAM executive committee includes: President: Charles Morgan, Vintage Homes First Vice President: Palmer Albertine, The Albertine Co.
