Mid-America Apartment Communities Inc. has declared a dividend for its fourth quarter of 1995 of 51 cents per share, an increase of 1 cent over the prior quarter. The dividend is payable on Jan. 31 to holders of record on Jan. 24. The company will announce its earnings on Jan. 26.
The American Institute of Architects, Memphis chapter, will sponsor its Celebration of Architecture on Saturday at the Brooks Museum of Art. The evening will include the presentation of the 1996 Design Awards and Gassner Award and installation of 1996 officers. Cocktails and hors doeuvres will be served at 6 p.m., dinner will be served at 6:45 p.m. and the program will begin at 8 p.m.
The program features Charles Gwathmey, a principal in Gwathmey Siegel & Associates of New York. Dinner is $40 per person in advance and $75 at the door.
Tom Wilson of United Equipment Co. Inc. has been elected president of the board of directors of Associated Builders and Contractors Inc. Other officers include first vice president L. C. Vance of Omega General Contractors Inc., second vice president Ralph Gusmus of Gusmus Electric Co. Inc., treasurer J. V. Weatherington of A. C. Electric Co. Inc. and secretary Robert Campbell of R. L. Campbell Contracting Co. Inc. The board includes Rick Bennett, John Dennis, Mark Harris, Floyd Johnson, Jimmie Jones, Dave LaGasse, R. E. Linkous, Vince Mazzola, Robert McBride, Larry Patterson, Wayne Smith, Mary Tibbets, Webb Turbeville, Jesse Zellner and Mark Zellner.
The Memphis chapters of the Appraisal Institute, Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute and Society of Industrial and Office Realtors will sponsor a three-hour technology seminar on Jan. 23 beginning after a noon lunch. The seminar, which will be conducted by Phillip McBride, will discuss applications, hardware, the future of technology and productivity tools. It will be held at the education center of the Memphis Area Association of Realtors. The cost is $12. For reservations, call 685-2100.
