University Clinical Health, the clinical practice organization affiliated with the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, is expanding with the acquisition of a new practice, the addition of another and some future expansion beyond Memphis coming soon.

When the University of Tennessee Health Science Center launched its Center for Addiction Science in the College of Medicine last year, it represented an ambitious bid by the school to help people beat a variety of addictions and to research the causes of substance abuse.

The University of Tennessee Health Science Center stepped up a little more than a year ago to provide a special clinic for bleeding disorders, but has now turned that into a comprehensive center that provides life-changing treatment for those in the Mid-South afflicted with these disorders.

The University of Tennessee Health Science center has launched and is expanding a comprehensive Hemophilia and Thrombosis Treatment Center, the only one of its kind in a 150-mile radius.

The clinic, one of only 120 in the country, aims to be a one-stop shop bringing together hematology physician services, nursing, case management and social work, infusion therapy, physical therapy, dentistry, a laboratory and pharmaceutical services.
