So, you think this is the “off-week” of the Memphis In May International Festival – the gap between the Beale Street Music Festival and the World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest. But, while Tom Lee Park gets a breather, there are plenty of cultural experiences to soak up across Memphis. Here's our weekly roundup of local happenings you need to know about...

Cooper-Young Pup Crawl, benefiting the Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County, will be held Thursday, May 14, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Twelve Cooper-Young restaurants and bars will offer canine-themed drinks and donate 10 percent of sales from Pup Crawlers. Visit memphishumane.org.

Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church will host the 57th annual Greek Festival Friday and Saturday, May 8-9, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the church, 573 N. Highland St. The event will feature Greek food (on site and drive-thru), marketplace, sanctuary tours and live entertainment. The Daily News will host the 2015 Money & Markets Seminar and panel discussion Thursday, May 7, from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Brooks Museum auditorium, 1934 Poplar Ave. The seminar will be followed by a wine-and-cheese reception with the panelists. 7. High Point Terrace Group Meets to Discuss Crime -

City and county government leaders will be at the Wednesday, Sept. 17, meeting of the High Point Terrace Neighborhood Watch group to talk about crime in the area including the recent mob attack at Poplar Plaza shopping center.

Moon River Music Festival, hosted by Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors, will be held Saturday, June 7, from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the Levitt Shell, 1930 Poplar Ave. The event will include more than a dozen performers, food trucks, activities and more. Shelby Farms Park Conservancy will hold the Dog-A-Roo Festival Saturday, May 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the off-leash dog park at Shelby Farms Park. The event will include the Four-Legged 4K at noon, plus talent and costume contests, parade of rescues, live music and more. Festival admission is free; parking is $5. WKNO/Channel 10 will host an opening reception of the art show “The Magic of May” featuring nearly 100 pieces from The Artist Group Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the WKNO Digital Media Center, 7151 Cherry Farms Road. 19. Former TBA Prez Funeral Thursday -

Attorney Emanuel Peter “Manny” Scarmoutsos died April 4.

Scarmoutsos practiced law in Memphis for 49 years until he retired in 2009.

He was a former president of the Memphis Trial Lawyers Association and Tennessee Bar Association. Scarmoutsos served as an adjunct professor at then-Memphis State University, where he taught business law classes.
