1. Collierville Reopens Burch Library -

Collierville leaders cut the ribbon Tuesday, July 21, on a reopened Collierville Burch Library.

The ceremony marks town of Collierville control of the library at 501 Poplar View Parkway.

Literacy is Key: A Book and Author Affair, sponsored by the Memphis Alumnae Association of Kappa Kappa Gamma, will be held Thursday, Jan. 30, at 11 a.m. at the Holiday Inn University of Memphis, 3700 Central Ave. The program will feature W. 3. Memphis-Area Libraries Host Digital Bookmobile -

The Digital Bookmobile National Tour will showcase the free eBook and audiobook download services from Memphis-area libraries Monday, Oct. 10, at the Germantown Community Library, 1925 Exeter Road, and Tuesday, Oct. 11, at the Burch Library, 501 Poplar View Parkway, in Collierville.

4. Norfolk Southern Almost Ready To Break Ground -

Norfolk Southern Corp. is about to clear the final hurdle needed to begin work on its Rossville intermodal terminal, where cargo containers will be transferred between trucks and trains.

The Memphis Music Resource Center will celebrate its first birthday during the South Main Art Trolley Tour today from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 431 S. Main St. The free celebration will include live music, food and drinks.

8. The Bodine School To Host Library Talks -

The Bodine School will host two Library Talk seminars Monday and April 23 titled “Is Your Child Struggling in School?”

The seminars will be hosted by Rene Friemoth Lee, the executive director of The Bodine School. They will address topics including understanding the demands of school, pinpointing the specific difficulties of children, identifying learning difficulties and understanding their impact on school and home, helping parents find the help they need, and describing survival strategies.
