Memphis City Council members start all over Tuesday, Nov. 4, in their votes on pension reforms.

A pair of ordinances representing a revised pension proposal by Memphis Mayor A C Wharton Jr. are on Tuesday’s agenda for the first of three readings. They replace another set of ordinances that had been set for final votes at the last council meeting in October.

Memphis City Council members delayed a vote Tuesday, Oct. 22, on a used car lot on Elvis Presley Boulevard near the site of the new Guesthouse at Graceland 140-room resort-style hotel.

The used car lot at 3510 Elvis Presley Blvd. would be a new site for the Hot Wheels car lot, which is farther south on Elvis Presley Boulevard on property owned by Graceland.

One chapter in the continuing saga of the New Horizon Park apartments has been closed, but more twists are likely coming for the embroiled property.

The sprawling, 933-unit multifamily complex at 3578 Millbranch Road in Whitehaven was foreclosed and sold for $21.4 million in a Nov. 20 substitute trustee’s sale to Wells Fargo NA. The seller was Spencer Clift, trustee for the Health, Education and Housing Facility Board of the city (HEHFB) of Memphis.
