11. Saint Francis Rolling Out Carpet for Nurses -

Faced with a growing demand for nurses, hospitals are finding they have to be more creative in their recruitment efforts to attract the best candidates.

That’s according to Keith Stanhill, chief human resource officer for Saint Francis Healthcare, which is hosting a job fair and hiring event next week and offering a potential hiring bonus of $10,000 for some eligible nurses.

Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett is seeing record numbers of patients after unveiling its $34 million, 83,000-square-foot expansion earlier this month.

The hospital at 2986 Kate Bond Road, which opened in 2004 as a 100-bed facility, features a wide range of medical services, including emergency and intensive care, cardiology, oncology, vascular services, orthopedic and spine services, and a family birthing center.

The “Ride for Your Mind (and Walk for Thought)” on Saturday will raise money to prevent head injuries and help people cope with brain trauma.
