Go hog wild, Memphis! 4. Railgarten’s Case Delayed; Will Go Before City Council - Thursday, April 27, 2017

After a more than four-hour meeting, the Shelby County Board of Adjustment voted Wednesday, April 26, to delay Railgarten’s request to reopen portions of its multiparcel Midtown outdoor entertainment venue, leaving only 2158 Central Ave. and the bottom floor of 2166 Central Ave. open for business.

5. Events - Thursday, April 27, 2017

Art by Design, a designer showcase benefiting ArtsMemphis and featuring Memphis’ top interior designers, will be held Thursday through Saturday, April 27-29, at Propcellar, 2585 Summer Ave. Events include a VIP reception Thursday at 6 p.m.; the Cambria Kick-Off Party on Friday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.; and General Admission Day on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with demonstrations and presentations scheduled throughout the day. 7. New Midtown Ping-Pong Bar Applies For Beer Permit - Tuesday, March 14, 2017

Railgarten, a new Midtown bar hoping to help bridge the gap between Overton Square and Cooper-Young, has applied for an on-premise beer license with the City of Memphis Alcohol Commission.

2166 Central LLC, doing business as Railgarten Diner, was listed as the applicant for the permit.

Memphis City Council members take their first vote Tuesday, Feb. 21, on changes to the city’s impasse ordinance.

The ordinance is a set of rules governing how the council settles deadlocked contract talks between the city administration and municipal labor unions without the council venturing into negotiations between the two sides.

12. Land Use Board Makes Decision on Trio of Controversial Cases - Monday, January 16, 2017

The Shelby County Land Use Control Board met neighborhood opposition head-on Jan. 12, approving one controversial project and voting down two others.

Of the 18 cases approved on its consent agenda, the most pertinent project was the proposed Ice House entertainment center at 2166 Central Ave.
