Daniel Flanagan is moving forward with a new concept at 2059 Madison Ave., the Overton Square space where his restaurant Chiwawa closed almost a year ago and where he apparently has plans for a bakery and cafe.

Tamp & Tap, the popular Downtown restaurant and coffee shop, has applied for a building permit for its East Memphis location.

Tamp & Tap applied for a $244,494 building permit through the Office of Construction Code Enforcement for its location at 6070 Poplar Ave. inside Highwoods Properties Inc.’s Triad Centre III office building in East Memphis.

One of the newest office buildings in East Memphis has landed a popular local coffee shop and restaurant.

Tamp & Tap responded to repeated overtures from Highwoods Properties Inc. and has leased 2,785 square feet of space on the first floor of the Triad Centre III building on Poplar Avenue in East Memphis.

The Center for Southern Folklore will present the Memphis Music & Heritage Festival Saturday, Aug. 31, and Sunday, Sept. 1, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Main Street between Peabody Place and Union Avenue. Taylor Berger, partner in YoLo Frozen Yogurt & Gelato, and partners Mitch Buckner (of Bella Café in Pink Palace) and Daniel Flanagan (of Chiwawa, the newly opened Southern-inspired eatery near Overton Square) have signed a lease for 2,755 square feet of retail space in the ground floor of Van Vleet Flats, 122 Gayoso Ave.

Fulmer Partnership have filed a $2.6 million construction loan with Commercial Bank and Trust for a single-family home in the Fulmer Tract within Neshoba Plantation Subdivision. Arthur Fulmer III signed the trust deed as the general partner of Riverdale Ltd. Partnership.
