First Tennessee Bank has donated a building at 5650 Mt. Moriah Road to Mid-South Spay and Neuter Services, which will allow the nonprofit clinic to increase capacity and make a larger impact on reducing pet overpopulation in the Mid-South.

4. Spay & Neuter Services Gets Helping Hand -

A contest pitting 55 Memphis-area salons against one another for the title of “Most Pet-Friendly Hair Salon” came to a finish this week, with a total of $7,300 raised for Mid-South Spay & Neuter Services, a nonprofit clinic dedicated to reducing pet overpopulation through affordable spay and neuter services.

The Memphis Rotary Club will meet today at noon at the University Club of Memphis, 1346 Central Ave. Veterinarian Kathy Mitchener will speak about stem cell research. Lunch is $18 per person and reservations are required. For reservations, e-mail Taylor Hughes at taylor@memphisrotary.org.

7. Grant Helps APA of MemphisExpand Spay, Neuter Services -      The DJ&T Foundation recently presented the Animal Protection Association of Memphis with a $10,000 grant that will be used to provide spay and neuter services to people who can't afford them.
