1. Council OKs $6M Loan for Wonder Bread Garage -

The Memphis City Council approved a $6 million loan on Tuesday, Aug. 22, to help finance the development of a 481-space parking garage that’s a key part of the $73 million Wonder Bread redevelopment.

2. Orion Federal Credit Union Looks to Move HQ to Edge District -

Orion Federal Credit Union is in talks to move its corporate headquarters to the former Wonder Bread bakery building.

That’s according to Orion CEO Daniel Weickenand, who said Thursday, Aug. 17, the credit union saw an opportunity to relocate its headquarters from 7845 U.S. 64 in the Wolfchase area “to transition a visibly neglected neighborhood in Memphis.”

Storage Town Shelby GP has filed a $4 million loan on its facility at 7845 E. Shelby Drive in Southeast Shelby County.

The Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County will hold its first "Putts for Mutts" Golf Classic today at 8 a.m. at Cottonwoods Golf Course in Tunica. The tournament will be a four-person scramble.
