St. George's to Host Musician Caroline Jones -

St. George’s Independent School is hosting Caroline Jones, a New York City-based singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer, Friday, Nov. 2.
Jones, the daughter of hedge fund manager Paul Tudor Jones and the niece of The Daily News owner Peter Schutt, will spend the day visiting all three St. George’s campuses. She’s the featured artist for a music program in memory of a student, Rebecca Meriwether Cooper Klyce, who died while in the first grade at St. George’s.

St. George's Hosts Six Moon Rocks -
Tuesday, December 6, 2011
St. George’s Independent School will feature six samples of moon rocks this week.
The samples, encapsulated in a six-inch clear disk, will be on display Tuesday, Dec. 6, at the school’s Collierville campus, 1880 Wolf River Blvd., from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. as part of Family Science Night.

Yale Historian to Speak at St. George's -

David Blight of Yale University, one of the nation’s top experts in African-American history, will speak Monday at St. George’s Independent School.
He will speak at a morning assembly at the Collierville campus. He will also speak to classes at the Collierville and Germantown campuses.

GROUNDBREAKING ANTICIPATION: Students at St. George’s Memphis, 3749 Kimball Ave., eagerly await Friday’s groundbreaking for a $4 million expansion of the campus. It will provide new classrooms, offices, storage, a gymnasium and a dining area. The Memphis campus, which serves students in prekindergarten through fourth grade, was founded in 2001 and opened as part of a capital campaign to expand the mission of St. George’s Independent School. St. George’s has campuses in Memphis, Germantown and Collierville.
