An explosion of residential and commercial development is the norm these days in the DeSoto County town whose name, ironically, refers to a symbol of peace.
And though Olive Branch prides itself on small-town charm, its industrial corridor - which includes the 800-acre Metro Industrial Park that encompasses the Olive Branch Airport - is thriving. One of the most recent projects is a manufacturing plant for J. Strickland & Co. that contains upward of 300,000 square feet. General contractor Tommy Starkey said the facility is 99 percent complete.
